It’s not very often anymore that I have a little splurge on new beauty items but recently I finally decided to have a look around the counters and see what was new. Offers in Boots are really hard to resist sometimes. I was after a new foundation and concealer and the rest just fell into my basket….I told you Boots offers are too good sometimes. It feels good to have some new bits to try and actually writing about a little beauty haul again.
I headed straight to Boots, I knew what I wanted to try and then I could just see what else was on offer. I had seen the new (I think) Max Factor Radiant Life foundation all over Instagram by other bloggers, it looked lovely, I have loved a couple of Max Factor foundations in the past so I knew I wanted to try that first. The power of social media. They had a 3 for 2 on so naturally I had to take advantage of that offer, I picked up the corresponding concealer and the Lasting Performance Setting Spray just to give it a try.
I have tried all three products today and so far, I am very impressed. I took my time choosing my shade as I’m usually in a bit of a rush I just grab what I think will work but this time I actually picked the right one. Shade 40 Light Ivory is perfect for me. What I’ve noticed so far is that this foundation is a buildable medium coverage and has a beautiful finish. Same with the concealer. They both feel nice on the skin, great hydration and as I mentioned, a lovely finish.
The setting spray will take a lot longer to work out if it’s doing it’s job but it smells lovely and it’s nice to just refresh your skin throughout the day.
I knew Maybelline had a new mascara out, the Snap Mascara, easy on easy off it’s described, and I wanted to give it a try. Buy one get the second half off meant picking up the eyelash serum I have had my eye on for so long. I get my lashes lifted now every 6 weeks but wanted to see if this made any sort of difference as well.
I used the mascara today, it applied nicely and didn’t smear or smudge anywhere. I am yet to take it off though so I can’t report back on how good that is but I love the slightly curved big bristly brush, made my lashes look very defined with some added volume.
A rose quartz face roller, now I’ve seen these a lot in Instagram/blog photos and besides them looking very pretty, I did actually want to see if they had any benefits to them. Said to reduce puffiness, wrinkles and dark circles (oh yeah) tighten and reduce pore size, improve blood circulation and skin tone and elasticity of the skin, it’s seriously got some impressing to do. I have used it, it’s nice and cold on the skin and is strangely therapeutic to sit there and roll your face but will see how it goes.
I picked mine up from TK MAXX for £9.99, they also had the green rollers and other *can’t remember the fancy names* rollers. I was originally going to pick one up from Amazon but this was cheaper so it was a good find.
It does look pretty on my dressing table too…
What have you picked up recently? Anything you recommend?
