Since we started planning our wedding, I have wanted to work on my skincare routine. This got me thinking about certain makeup products, and new skincare that I wanted to use in the lead up to the wedding. Feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin is so important and I want this is to be the case on our wedding day as well. I’ve been looking for an entirely new skincare routine, something to really sort out my dryness and keep me hydrated and smooth. Along the way I have spotted some other things and thought I would share a wishlist.
Starting with something I have always wanted to try, a hair removal system. Being a brunette, my dark hair can sometimes make me feel self-conscious, especially the peach fuzz on my face. The Panasonic IPL Hair Removal system would certainly help with that. With continued use, the more smooth and hair-free you become. It can be used on your face and body and is also said to help your face appear brighter as the treatment encourages the shedding of dead skin cells. It sounds amazing and hopefully one day I will be able to try it.
The Glossier Solution became available last week and I bought it in a flash. I didn’t even know a knew product was coming but as soon as I read it I just had to try it. A chemical exfoliator with the promise of smaller pores, brighter, smoother and clearer skin, it sounded brilliant. I’ve used it everyday since I got it and it does make my skin really smooth and the pores on my face appear less clogged up but over time I will hopefully see more of a difference. I am really impressed with it so far. You can get 10% off your first Glossier order here.
I have finally order some bits from The Ordinary, including a Retinol product. I’m 28 this year and spotted fine lines around my eyes a while ago. Retinol is known to help with the signs of fine lines and I’m hoping this will help me a little. It’s an extra step in my skincare routine that I have wanted to include for a while, it’s time I really focused on a solid skincare routine as it will really benefit me later on in life.
Talking of eyes, I have wanted to try the Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Treatment for a while now as it sounds so hydrating and I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. Definitely on my list to buy next.
Other beauty products on my radar include the new By Terry Baume De Rose items. I love a lip scrub and the Baume De Rose one sounds so divine, followed by the new stick version of the cult lip balm, it seems so much more convenient than the pot and I’ve always wanted to try it. Definitely not essential as you can get cheaper alternatives but since it’s for my wedding, I want to be able to treat myself if I can.
I’ve seen quite a few YouTuber’s rave about the Marc Jacobs Perfecting Coconut Face Primer, anything that is described as hydrating is always high on my wishlists. It’s said to prime the skin while still letting it breathe, that’s what I usually struggle with when I use a primer, my skin feels clogged and makeup doesn’t usually sit well on top. This sounds like a great primer to try.
As for makeup, I know I will probably have a makeup artist do mine but I couldn’t help add two products to my list that I’ve had my eye on for a while. The By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon would look beautiful all over the lid and lightly smoked out at the edges. I’m such a ‘natural makeup’ lover and usually do a smokey eye with just one brown shade to add a bit of depth to the eye and I’ve heard these don’t budge once applied.
I’ve always wanted a Tom Ford lipstick and what better excuse than buying one in your wedding shade? I plan on buying my perfect lipstick and using that, I then have it with me all day instead of having the MUA’s shade wear off and then not having a colour on my lip for the remainder of the day. I haven’t decided on a shade yet as I want to swatch them in person, but they are just such beautiful lipsticks.
Finally, what’s a wishlist post without a beautiful fragrance? Chanel Mademoiselle has been on my list for years and I’m hoping Brent reads this and buys it as my wedding day gift. A girl can dream. And using all this beautiful new skincare while a stunning Jo Malone candle burns in the room is a plus. Always wanted one, still haven’t bought one. These candles are so luxurious and I usually opt for a new makeup item over one candle, but one day.
My sister has already mentioned going for a Spa Day, something I have always wanted to do. Relaxation is definitely needed in the lead up to the wedding, it’s been pretty stressful already and we still have 10 months to go!
If you want to see how I’ve been planning my wedding so far, you can by reading my Wedding Planners post. I plan on sharing a fair bit about my wedding, it’s such an exciting time and I want to be able to share it with you all.
