May has been one crazy month, some sad moments but generally mostly happy. If you didn’t know, May was when Brent and I announced that we are having our first baby! You can read all about that in my Surprise post and also get up to date with my pregnancy so far with my Pregnancy – Weeks 1-12 post. It was also my birthday month but since I turned 21 (this was my 25th) I just don’t really celebrate it anymore…such a granny, I know.
This month beauty products wise, I really don’t have a lot to share but the products I do have are certainly worthy of some attention.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish – Soft & Gentle
I have wanted this product since I started blogging, nearly 4 years. I just don’t know why I never bought it! But when Brent went away to India for his work and texted me saying “Duty Free have MAC, what do you want?” I instantly said this, no hesitation – serious boyfriend points where earned. I have only been using it for about 3 weeks during May but it’s everything I thought it would be. A gorgeous highlighter that to me, has a slight rose gold tone to it, it looks beautiful on the skin. A full post will definitely be coming soon.
Maybelline BROWdrama – Transparent
I was in need of a new brow mascara and decided to give the new Maybelline one a try. I opted for transparent as my brows are pretty thick anyway and my Soap & Glory Archery provides enough colour, I just needed something to hold the hairs in place. The wand I find a little strange, it has a normal style brush wand with a big bulbous lump on the end which I do find a little awkward to use. The reason I love this is for the formula, it keeps my brows in place all day without leaving them feeling stiff or crispy, I just wish the wand was like Benefit’s Gimme Brow, although I haven’t used it, it looks as though you could get great precise application.
Dove Purely Pampering
I always use a moisturiser after every shower or bath but now I am pregnant, I am trying my best to keep stretch marks at bay by slathering on the creams. I love the scent of this one, shea butter and warm vanilla, it smells incredible and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and supple. You don’t need a lot as a little goes a long way and it sinks into the skin so quickly. Once I run out, I will most definitely repurchase this.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer – Ivory
When I first heard about this product and how it was being compared to the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer I knew I had to try it. You get a huge amount of product for the price (£5.49) and a little goes a long way. I chose Ivory as I wanted to use it as a highlighter and a concealer and it works amazingly for both. It brightens my under-eyes but still covers blemishes without highlighting them. The formula is really creamy, blends well and doesn’t clog the pores or appear cakey on the skin. If I’m just popping to the shops, I wear this on it’s own without foundation and it just looks like my natural skin, as though I’m not even wearing makeup. So impressed with this product.
