Brent and I have wanted to do our room up for a while now. The chest of drawers were completely broken, we didn’t have enough room to display things nicely, things were just crammed in wherever we could get it to fit. My sister moved out so we took it as our opportunity to take advantage of her old wardrobe and my mum had my old one, the tall boy and my old vanity. After two rounds of IKEA in the same night, a whole Saturday spent putting furniture together and then the couple of days for me to add finishing touches, this is the end result.
We couldn’t be happier with the end result, we love how simple it looks. I love the pop of colours here and there and how tidy it finally is, we actually have space to store stuff and display things nicely. The MALM line from IKEA is seriously amazing as they are so spacious and can store so much inside. They are also fab quality and to keep them in tip-top condition, we bought the white glass tops for the chest of drawers and bedside table (the dressing table comes with the glass top).
If you are looking to re-do your room for less but want quality furniture, IKEA is definitely the place to go. My last trip was only the second time I have been, the last time was about 8 years ago and couldn’t remember it at all but I have to say, I hated it but it’s so worth it. It’s so big and stressful, stuff everywhere, we were both overwhelmed so we did two rounds and had a hotdog at the end, well deserved!
So what do you think of the makeover?
