I don’t know about you but as soon as spring hits I want pastels on my nails and when summer comes, it’s all about the neon shades. This year I have gone a little crazy with the neon – neon outfit anyone? here! And if you saw my last China Glaze nail polish review of the amazingly bright Shell-O polish, you will know just how much I love them. After that last polish, Gemma from Make-Up Magpie and I ended up in a deep discussion on Twitter about other China Glaze shades we wanted to try and she recommend this beautiful one to me. Recently she held a blog sale (here) where I managed to snap it up, That’s Shore Bright and also I bought Neon & On & On from her too – review coming soon.
That’s Shore Bright is from the 2013 Sunsational collection, as is Shell-O and Neon & On & On as well. This shade is a beautiful vibrant purple creme and unlike any shade I’ve ever owned. There’s lots of different types of pastel purples and dark purples out there but That’s Shore Bright is a deeper purple that’s still bright on the nails. Such a stunning colour.
Application is fairly easy, after two coats I had a nice opaque finish, add three if you so wish for a bolder finish. However it can become streaky and gloopy if you apply the second coat too quickly, you have to wait for the first layer to dry properly. I usually wait roughly 5 minutes. I found it odd that this shade dried to a semi-matte finish as it does’t mention it anywhere. It’s not fully matte and it’s definitely not shiny either, but it’s still pretty and once I added a top coat, the added shine really made the shade pop.
Longevity wasn’t all that great though, 3 days tops before it started chipping. That did let me down a little bit, three days isn’t all that great but for the colour I really don’t mind, I think it’s worth it. If you couldn’t tell, I love this shade and I feel that it will be on my nails a lot over summer. Although this shade used to be sold on Beauty Bay, it’s no longer available but it does come up on Amazon and other nail polish websites if you want to get your paws on this beautiful colour.
Which is your favourite summer shade?
