I have been raving about this foundation for a while now, in my January Favourites post and also it featured in my What I’m Wearing post the other day as well. You have probably already guessed that I love this foundation but today I want to tell you why.
A little back story, I’m sure I bought this a few years ago and hated it, they must have changed the formula or something because it seems like a brand new product now that keeps popping up on a lot of different blogs and YouTube videos. I originally tried the Match Perfection Concealer and loved it so much I felt I just had to try the foundation to see if it was as good.
PIN IT!PIN IT!On the bottle it states that is will last all day and also that it’s enhanced with sapphire radiance for an illuminating glow, does it really work I hear you ask? Yes, in a word. It gives a medium buildable coverage, if I’m having a bad skin day, I will pop on some MAC Select Cover-up concealer onto any problem areas and always use it on the apples of my cheeks for pesky redness, but I love the coverage it provides. If one layer isn’t enough for me, I wait 10 minutes and apply another to certain areas and it covers everything. Sometimes I don’t even need to concealer some blemishes because this foundation makes them disappear. I like to buff this product in with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and found that this creates a flawless effect to my skin.
I suffer with dry skin a lot and some days it’s really awful but I found this didn’t settle in dry patches at all, it kept them moisturised and hidden. If you’re worried about having oily skin and looking like a disco ball, fear not as it creates a luminous glow, not an oily glow. Teamed with the Match Perfection concealer, there’s no need for Strobe cream or my Bourjois Luminous Primer when I’m using this bad boy, I also feel there isn’t a need for highlighter either! I don’t want to sound vain but I was in the car and my nose and cheek bones were glowing in the sun which made me happy as it strangely, to me, made my nose appear smaller as it illuminates it in the right places.
I always powder my face to set this make-up and it honestly lasts all day, there’s no caking, no patchiness and also it doesn’t crease anywhere on my face. Only downside for me is that is contains SPF 18 when higher would be a lot better as this would be great as a tinted moisturiser in the summer time. Their shade range is pretty good from what I remember and the shade I use is 103 True Ivory which matches me perfectly on my face but looks orange on my wrist in the picture.
I am so impressed with this product and can’t rave about it enough. I have 4 other foundations that I want to rotate to see what the others are like but I always choose to wear this because I just love the finish, the longevity and how natural it looks. For £6.99 a bottle it’s very purse friendly and one and half pumps is all I use so it will last a really long time. I will of course, definitely be repurchasing this when the time comes. Congratulations Rimmel, I have found my favourite drug-store foundation.
