L’oreal Studio Line | Volume Texturizing Spray

Excuse my dodgy pout 😛

I’ve always struggled with volume in my hair, although it’s shiny it’s rather limp and flat at the roots. I try teasing it and hair spraying it but after a couple of hours it’s flat again. I’ve had my eye on the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray since I first heard about it but however I just can’t justify the £38.00 price tag that comes with it at the moment. As soon as I heard that L’oreal had released the Volume Texturizing Spray, I knew I had to have it to give it a try.

I love how professional the packaging looks, the matte brightly coloured canister looks great in my haircare collection. You get 200ml of product which is a reasonable size and should last you a decent amount of time but that depends how much you use it. It’s not too pricey either, I managed to pick mine up on off in Asda for £2.50.

On the back of the cannister it says to apply in sections to your hair and scrunch it to create the volume. As you can see from the pictures above, I do get a little bit of volume but not loads. It’s still at my roots that nothing seems to happen and I do scrunch it there a lot. I like how the rest of my hair looks but it takes a while to create it and get it to a way that I am happy with. I have to say though, this is one of the best smelling hair products I have used in a while, it just smells so fruity and fresh, it’s lovely. Quite strong so if you don’t like strong scented products, beware.

It states that it’s non-crunchy, non-heavy and non-stiff which I do agree with. It also says that it’s brushable after which I agree with too. When I first used it I sprayed it too close which made my hair feel a bit stiff but after spraying it further away I found it to be fine. It doesn’t feel powdery either in the hair. Now I do like the little bit of volume it creates however it’s the next day I have the issue with. I found that the next day my hair was extremely greasy afterwards, it was horrible. I kept testing and I’m sure it’s this product that is causing it as it never happened the day after a wash.

Overall, I’m not overly impressed with this product, I don’t really feel it did a lot to my hair as I could get better volume with my Batiste XXL dry shampoo so I although I will finish this cannister up, I won’t be repurchasing it.

Have you tried the new L’oreal Volume Texturizing Spray? What did you think of it?
