I have tried a lot of new skincare products over the past few months but I’ve still returned to some old favourites and introduced some new ones into my routine. I thought I would share my favourite French pharmacy skincare products with you all because they have either transformed my skin or are just a pleasure to use.
I reviewed the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Foaming Gel* and La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Nuit* last year as it transformed my skin during a reaction. Within a couple of days of using these products my flare up calmed right down and my skin was so much more manageable. For the summer months I wanted to introduce an SPF into my skincare routine so I chose the La Roche-Posay Invisible Fresh Mist Spray with SPF50+ as I knew that their products didn’t effect my skin. I spray this all over my face after my moisturiser but before applying my makeup, I then top it up throughout the day over my makeup.
When I received a mascara from a skincare brand I was a little dubious at first, I wasn’t sure what to expect but being from a brand that was great for my skin, I knew it wouldn’t cause me any problems. From the very first use I knew this mascara was the best I would ever try. The La Roch-Posay Respectissime Waterproof Extreme Hold Mascara* has a great sized brush that coats every single lash, lengthening it and creating long fluttery natural looking lashes. I have always struggled with mascaras holding a curl but this one keeps my lashes curled all day long, they don’t droop at all. The waterproof element is also great, sometimes with a waterproof mascara, once wet your lashes can feel uncomfortable but with this they feel and look exactly the same and on me it does not budge at all.
The Phytopeel* is such a strange but brilliant product. It’s said to cleanse the skin and rid it of impurities and remove dead skin cells. Once you have applied it, you leave it to dry slightly and then with upward sweeping motions you gently exfoliate the skin. After using this I’m left with soft smooth skin, it doesn’t suck the moisture out or leave you feeling dry, just clean and exfoliated. I love this product, I’ve never tried anything like it before and I like to use it once a week in my Sunday pamper sessions.
I’ve used a few NUXE products now, mainly travel sized products but I’ve been so impressed with everything so far. A new product that I have been loving is the Nuxellence Eye Contour* which is great for smoothing and illuminating the eye area. The metal applicator is so good for cooling the under-eyes and makes it perfect for those puffy-eyed mornings.
I’ve talked about Avéne a lot on my blog, it’s the brand that I always return too, especially if I’m having some skin troubles. Two stand out products are the Micellar Lotion* and the Rich Skin Recovery Cream* both I have also got my mum hooked on. The micellar water is so gentle on the skin and great for removing any last bits of makeup without stripping the skin. The cream is perfect for people who suffers skin reactions or is very sensitive, it has worked wonders for me and I continue to use it all the time.
Bioderma has always been a favourite brand of mine, I love their micellar water but my newest favourite product is their Sensibio H20 Micellar Wipes* as they are just so good. I know most people hate makeup wipes but if I’m feeling lazy or just too tired, I will use a makeup wipe to remove most of my makeup first. These are so gentle on the skin and remove makeup so well.
