It’s never too early to start thinking about Mother’s Day, it’s the perfect time of year to spoil her or treat her to something fancy. My brother and I would always wake up early to pick daffodils out of the garden, make a tea and some soggy cereal, she was so lucky, however now I like to treat her to pretty things such as perfume (although this year she’s not getting that, sorry mum) Choosing a fragrance for someone can always be a little tricky, if you know exactly what they like then you shouldn’t have a problem but if you’re not too sure, getting ideas of what sort of scents they may like or seeing what they have owned previously will really help you here.
Luckily in my family my sister, mum and I all like the same kind of scents, my mum in particular loves all of my perfumes so she’s always really easy to buy for, I just buy what I like! So today I’m going to be sharing some lovely fragrances for Mother’s Day which I hope will help you choose the best one for your mum.
PIN IT! These scents are what I feel like are the more woody, musk, romantic scents. When I say musk I don’t mean smelly old carpets, I’m talking the deep sophisticated scents that are perfect for evenings, date nights, those kind of scents. They are completely different to the floral and sweet scents and are my personal favourite type of fragrance. Some old favourites of mine are YSL Black Opium, with notes of vanilla and coffee it’s such a sexy and different type of scent, slightly sweet but so beautiful. Another beautiful scent is Narciso Rodriguez* which is a soft and sensual fragrance, perfect for that powerful women in your life. Paco Rabanne Olympéa is still one of my favourite scents, I find this one is light enough to wear in the day time but still has that sensual edge to it.
PIN IT! PIN IT!Some floral favourites are Elie Saab Rose Couture* the latest release in their perfume line, this floral rose addition isn’t too overpowering but so beautiful. Elie Saab Le Parfum is an intense oriental floral scent, not your typical floral scent but a lovely evening addition. One I always come back to is Bagatelle de Gabrielle by Omorovicza, a scent which doesn’t get the attention it deserves, it was inspired by the Omorovicza Spa in Budapest and it’s divine, a feminine floral that will definitely be a lovely treat. It was also the scent that George got me for my first Mother’s Day last year. Finally Modern Muse by Estée Lauder is quite similar to Bagatelle de Gabrielle but it’s a little lighter. Blooming Bouquet is Dior’s latest release, a beautiful floral mix housed in a stunning bottle, it would make a beautiful Mother’s Day gift.
PIN IT!For the ladies that like a sweet or fresh scent then these will be more to their taste. Hugo Boss The Scent is a lovely fruity-floral mix with notes of roasted peach and freesia, a beautiful blend. Absolutely Blooming is another lovely floral scent from Dior, but this one settles down to become quite sweet. And finally, for a more affordable scent but one that is still lovely, White Musk L’eau* from The Body Shop is such a gorgeous fresh scent and one of my personal favourites.
