Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation

Lancôme was the first high end beauty brand that I ever bought from, I was obsessed with their skincare and would always be straight at the counter if they had a special offer or gift with purchase. As I’ve become more beauty obsessed I’ve tried a lot of different brands and Lancôme ended up taking a back seat, which is a shame as it’s such an amazing brand with beautiful products and fragrances. Today I will be reviewing their latest release, the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion* foundation. Let’s see if it’s as good as the original liquid foundation, a product I absolutely loved!

The packaging is simply stunning. Obviously black and gold was always going to get high marks but the general look and feel is lovely, although a little difficult to store. You can pop out the centre where the foundation lies and replace it once you need to repurchase, I think this is a great way to save wasted packaging as you only replace what you need. I love the gold detailing on the puff as it gives it a luxurious feel. I am yet to wash the puff and I hope it washes up nicely as I’d hate to stop using it.

The formula is said to be the same as the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24h except in cushion form and I must admit at first I was sceptical. I had seen different brands releasing this new style of foundation and wasn’t sure if it would just be a gimmicky thing or actually a good product. I’m pleased to say it’s the latter! From the first use I was amazed at how flawless my skin looked once I had applied a full face, my redness was gone, my dark circles, my skin just looked natural and even. The formula leaves a lovely luminous glow to the skin that just makes everything appear brighter and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day.

You don’t need a lot as a little goes a long way. This is definitely a high coverage foundation but it feels so light on the skin, it doesn’t look or feel like I’m wearing anything and for me it stays put all day, it’s definitely long wearing. I’ve said numerous times (to myself & Brent, he hates likes my makeup waffling) that I need to repurchase this once I’ve run out as it’s just so good.

I feel the puff has a lot to do with the application, it’s so soft that it seems to blend the product in seamlessly and doesn’t soak too much of the product up. It hasn’t left my foundation looking patchy or streaky, it’s a great addition to the compact and makes on-the-go application so easy.

This foundation has SPF 50 in which is utterly brilliant, more brands need to have high SPF in their products as for me it’s a huge selling point. It has a range of 18 shades and I have 02 Beige Rose which is the perfect match for my skin tone. Once blended in you can’t even tell I have anything on, I’ve never had a foundation with such a good colour match before.

This compact will set you back £30.00 and the refills are £19.50 however I think it’s totally worth the splurge for the gorgeous finish and overall luxurious feel of the product. I haven’t been wowed by a foundation in such a long time so trying and loving this was so refreshing. Lancôme are such an under-hyped brand, they really deserve a lot more attention and I can’t wait to see what new products they release in the future. I also have one of their new cushion blushers, Cushion Blush Subtil* in the shade 025 Sorbet Grenadine however I haven’t tested this enough yet, expect a review in the near future.

Have you tried the new Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation? What are your thoughts on it?

I have been looking at cushion foundations and I love the sound of this one. It is actually cheaper than I expected.

I haven’t tried this but would like to, I used to use Lancome products all the time and don’t know why I still don’t to be honest, I think I’ve just got into trying lots of different brands being a blogger but Lancome always wowed me with their products and I used their foundation for years, their eyeshadows are also amazing. This sounds lovely and I must add it to my wishlist asap, great review xx

I’ve heard of these new cushion foundations but I’m yet to try one! I’d did watch an ad for this yesterday though with Lisa Eldridge and it did look pretty good! 🙂

I love the idea of a fuller coverage cushion foundation. I’ve recently found myself really getting into them, but I’d love something with more coverage but still feels light on the skin. This is definitely being added to my wishlist now!!
