When you’re a bit obsessed with makeup brushes it’s great because you end up having a huge selection. You have five different face brushes, 20 different eyeshadow brushes etc, you get the gist. What isn’t great is when you have to clean them all. Does anyone actually enjoy washing their makeup brushes? With that said I try to deep clean my face brushes every week, when I remember, and I spot clean eyeshadow/brow brushes every couple of days. I’ve been on the look out for an affordable brush cleaner for a while and finally stumbled across the H&M Brush Cleanser.
For years I used the MAC cleaner for spot cleaning but at over £10 a bottle it was pricey and it was hard to replace as I never had a store or counter close to me. I then tried a Bare Minerals one and although it was good, it was £10 and the bottle was tiny. Recently whilst perusing my new H&M beauty counter I spotted the H&M Brush Cleanser and it was only £2.99. I will be honest in saying I didn’t hold out much hope for it however I have been pleasantly surprised.
You get 100ml in the bottle which is a decent size. It’s nice and small so it’s easy to store but the best part is that it has a spray nozzle. The MAC cleaner always annoyed me because you had to pour it out and I don’t know how many times I spilt it. The spray means you can pump as much as you like without any waste. The product itself can be used on both natural and synthetic brush hairs, it cleans and conditions the bristles all without needing to be rinsed. It’s a great product to have in your professional makeup kit as the brushes dry really quickly once they have been cleaned. It smells quite nice, considering it’s pretty cheap it doesn’t have a chemical scent to it and it does clean the brushes extremely well. My brushes are never left with staining, it gets all the product out of the bristles with little effort.
This cleanser is an absolute bargain and definitely worth picking up. I can honestly say that I have found my spot cleaning product and will continue to repurchase this. You can’t go wrong with the quality and how affordable it is, I would say it’s just as good if not better than the MAC and Bare Minerals cleaners, and this is a fraction of the price.
Have you tried the H&M Brush Cleanser? What are your thoughts on it?
