A while back I was scent a little surprise card from Escentual asking to share on Twitter a beauty product that I have been lusting after. I had been lusting after the new Paco Rabanne scent for a long time, ever since I smelt it at Christmas so it’s the first thing that sprang to mind. Today’s post will be a full review of the beautiful scent Olympéa*.
The fragrance came all wrapped up in a pretty silver paper and a branded ribbon, it took everything in me to not just rip it open when it arrived but I refrained until I had taken my photographs first – priorities. The packaging is quite unusual, 30ml looks elegant and pretty in my collection, it also fits well into my clutch bag. The larger sizes do appear slightly bulky however I rarely buy larger than a 30ml bottle anymore as I love fragrance, I like to own a lot of different scents. The rose gold writing and detailing is spot on, very on trend and looks so pretty.
The base notes are sandalwood and ambergris, middle notes of salted vanilla and top notes of green mandarin, ginger lily and hydroponic jasmine. Sandalwood and vanilla are two of my favourite ingredients in a fragrance. It’s a sweet scent that has a touch of freshness to it, it’s beautiful. It quickly became one of my favourite scents that I own and easily one of my most used.
If you are near a fragrance counter I highly recommend testing this scent, it’s great for evening wear but can easily been worn in the day time, the vanilla touch makes it a great summer scent. On me it lasts quite well, probably about 5 hours maybe more. Eau de parfum generally means the staying power is slightly longer than eau de toilette or eau de cologne but although it’s stronger, it’s not offensive or in your face, this would make a great date night scent leaving a good lasting impression. One of those scents that when you catch a trace of it, it will instantly take you back to a memory.
I adore this scent so much, everything about it is just lovely and I’m so glad I finally own it. Available from Escentual, the price starts at £34.00 for a 30ml so a reasonable price for something that smells this amazing.
