These tea’s can be a bit controversial, but before you click off thinking it’s a slimming tea, it isn’t. Some people long for a toned body which might mean dropping a few pounds and I’ve seen a few slimming teas on my Instagram feed before, Bootea being the main brand. I don’t agree with the tea’s that include ingredients that cause laxative type effects or one’s that are consumed in place of a meal, this tea is just a lovely blend of natural ingredients that are packed full of vitamins and minerals.
Teami is a healthy tea company that provides different blends of teas to suit your needs. As I said above, I don’t like tea’s that have dodgy ingredients and at first I was hesitant but after looking into the company I saw that their products didn’t include any strange ingredients, just natural ones. They also offer lots of useful information in which foods are good for you and which ones to avoid in order to stay healthy.
I chose to try the Alive* teabags as the ingredients sounded lovely and the benefits were right up my street. I wanted something that boosted my energy levels and it also promised to relieve stomach cramps and migraines along with a list of other benefits.. Alive features just 5 ingredients; Ginger, Honey, Lemongrass, Green Tea and plant based caffeine. So why is this tea good for you? Lemongrass is a great source of nutrition with it including vitamin A & C, folic acid, magnesium, iron and zinc. Most of those vitamins help towards healthy hair, skin and nails, yes please! Green tea is a natural antioxidant which is great for boosting you metabolism and detoxing your kidney and liver however water also does the same thing by flushing out unwanted things. Finally ginger is great for nausea. When I was pregnant I was always told to drink lemon and ginger tea or eat ginger biscuits, which did help for a while so ginger is great for nausea – I do not recommend this tea if you are pregnant though because of the green tea and caffeine. It also contains a lot of vitamins such as vitamin C &B6, iron, potassium, zinc, calcium and more.
So it features some great health benefits. Yes it boosts your metabolism but that’s not a negative “slimming” thing at all, there aren’t any ingredients that have laxative type effects which I personally would avoid. When buying products like these, they should always be researched beforehand and used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise regime. I love drinking this tea with my lunch, it feels as though it aids better digestion and I don’t feel bloated afterwards. The flavour is quite sweet but it does have a kick, sometimes I add a slice of lemon in as well but you can add all-natural honey or stevia too if you want a sweeter taste.
A bag of 15 tea bags costs £14.99 which is a lot, £1 a tea bag but they are a nice alternative to coffee or tea during the day. All though it contains caffeine, it doesn’t contain as much as a cup of coffee would so if you’re trying to cut down your intake in the day time this is a great choice.
They have a lot of different choices of tea blends available so you’re bound to find something that suits you and your lifestyle. As healthy tea company’s go, Teami is definitely my go to choice. If you fancy giving them a try, you can get 10% off using the code BCHIC10.
