Festive Lips

After posting my Festive Nails post I thought I would put together a little lipstick version sharing my favourite shades that are perfect for the holiday season. I always chose a red lip at this time of year, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve wouldn’t be the same without it.

For the lipstick lovers, MAC Red is your classic blue-toned red with great staying power. It’s a satin finish so will offer a bit of hydration on the lips and being blue-toned, this shade makes your teeth appear whiter. Another blue-toned red lippy is Burberry Military Red, really creamy and looks lovely blended out for a softer look. A great dupe for the previous two mentioned is Makeup Revolution I am Ready! It’s pretty much the exact shade, just a less opaque and creamier version.

A lovely berry option is Makeup Revolution Saviour Will Come  which is so creamy and a great alternative to the classic red lip, if that’s what you prefer. A lipstick choice that will last during your Christmas dinner is an oldie but a goodie, Rimmel Apocalips  in Big Bang. It stays put and the formula is so opaque and rich, it’s the perfect Christmas red in my opinion.

And if you don’t want the fuss of maintaining a red lip, a subtle sheer red lipbalm in the form of Maybelline Babylips  in Sweet Apple will suit you just fine. This smells amazing and it provides just the right amount of colour.
