Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Complextion Sponge

I’ve only ever used makeup brushes to apply my base makeup and turned my nose up at any type of beauty blender or makeup sponge. I just thought they were totally overrated and I never wanted to try them. What a snob ay? A couple of months back I randomly decided to just try it and see what I thought.

In a nutshell, I bought the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge  back at the end of May and I haven’t used anything else since, all base makeup brushes have gone completely untouched. I love this little sponge, it’s the best £5.99 I have ever spent. It blends any makeup in seamlessly and creates such a natural looking finish. Some of the product gets absorbed into the sponge leading to a lighter more natural finish which I love. If I want more coverage, I just build up the layers and it never appears caky. If my skin is feeling a little dry I just apply some MAC Fix+ to dampen the sponge and then apply my makeup like normal, this hydrates the skin a little. I’ve written about this little beauty before and the comments were a bit hit and miss as some people got on with it, others didn’t but I absolutely love it and I can’t see myself using a brush again, at least for a while.

It says to wash the sponge every three uses and replace it every three months. I bought a new one the other day which means I repurchased after 4 months but I have really kept on top of cleaning it throughly every third use to keep the sponge clean. £5.99 every three months is such a small price to pay for such a fabulous product, I honestly can’t rave about this enough. Who thought anyone could get this excited over a sponge?

Have you tried the Miracle Complexion Sponge? What are your thoughts on it?

I really like it as well but still prefer the beauty blender, which is just ‘bouncier’ :) But for the price, this one is fab!

I’ve been meaning to check this out for a while, my Cosmo one is getting a bit grubby and I suspect it’s not the best blending sponge around to be honest! I really like the look of the flat end on this one.

I’ve been meaning to try a beauty sponge and they all sound lovely. I might have to get my hands on one to try it out myself.

I have tried this sponge a few times now and although I don’t hate it, it’s not really my favourite, I seem to get better results from my eBay beauty blender, but thanks for sharing, this is a lovely post!

i too turned my nose up at the recent trend of these type of make up sponges. i was put off sponges for life after the 90s/00s! but i did get the RT recently to try it and I absolutely love it. it has been a godsend at applying makeup for me especially when my skin is rather dry.

I’ve tried both the beauty blender and the chi chi makeup blending sponge (both are brilliant) but not the real techniques alternative as yet. It’s at the top of my wishlist :)
