I’m always open to trying new things, especially skincare products. Having suffered with dry skin since I was a teen, I always struggled to find products that would keep it hydrated and moisturised. However, this year I seemed to have found the right balance and my dry skin has been kept at bay, most of the time.
I was asked if I would like to try the Anne Semonin Extreme Comfort Cream* and once I read the description I just couldn’t say no, it sounded lovely. A rich luxurious cream that helps with very dry and sensitive skin, the ingredients include beeswax that acts as a barrier and offers protection, macadamia oil which is known for it’s moisturising properties and soya oil, sunflower oil and corn oil which all help smooth and soften the skin. It’s aimed at day use only to help protect the skin and prevent moisture loss throughout the day. It all sounds very luxurious and it’s offering a lot, but does it actually work?
As recommended, I’ve only used this in the day time and I have been so impressed by it. Not only does it leave my skin feeling moisturised and hydrated, it’s an amazing base for makeup. The formula is very thick and rich but doesn’t leave a greasy residue, my skin instantly drinks it up and my skin feels so smooth and plump. Dry patches disappear and my skin doesn’t feel tight in the slightest. Applying makeup over the top is a dream as my base just sinks in to the cream leaving a lovely even coverage and the base product never sits in the dry patches. There is a slight scent to the product, the typical face cream scent but it’s not overpowering at all.
I’ve noticed that my skin feels moisturised and plump all throughout the day, even when I take my makeup off at night, my skin still feels smooth underneath. I don’t think I have used a product that has nourished my skin as much as this product has. It’s the best it has been and I couldn’t be happier. Also, the packaging looks so luxurious too!
This product is available from Beauty Expert and comes in at £68.00 which is a lot for one face cream, however since it’s only for use in the morning and the product is so rich, you only need a small amount and should last you a fair amount of time.
Have you tried any products from Anne Semonin? What were your thoughts?
