June Favourites 2015

June seemed to fly by, most of us seem to say this every month but it disappeared in a flash. I’m not complaining though because in just six days time, Brent and I will hopefully find out the gender of our first baby. We are so incredibly excited and I have been counting down the days in June! June was a fun and busy month for us both and it seems to only be getting better…hope I haven’t jinxed us!

As beauty favourites go, I don’t have a huge variety of products, just four that I have thoroughly been enjoying throughout this summery month. Although I have been getting hot and fluttered in this heat, I am not going to complain, it’s the best summer we have had in a long time!

Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze – I’m very particular with my skin and never go out in the sun without SPF30 or above and although this year I could get a little bit of a natural tan, I’m still choosing to fake it. Cocoa Brown has been popping up in my Bloglovin’ feed a lot recently and I’m glad to be on that bandwagon. This gradual tanner creates a soft subtle glow of colour that looks totally natural. Once applied, there’s a gorgeous slight fruity scent but the dreaded biscuity scent does come through a tiny bit on me, however it’s usually gone by morning. Compared to other brands on the market, the scent of this product is so much nicer and definitely more subtle.

Maybelline Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara – I love Maybelline for their mascaras and this one has become one of my favourites. It has two brushes, one each for the lower and upper lashes which does seem a bit gimmicky but the lower lashes brush is so tiny, it makes application easier to control. The formula is great as it doesn’t budge at all and it holds a curl all day long, something my lashes really struggle with. Will most definitely be picking this one up again.

Makeup Revolution Bronze Shimmer Highlight* – This bronzer is huge, the size of my hand huge and totally worth the tiny price tag. It has three shades in the pan but I like to use the lighter two shades together. I’ve been using a big powder brush to apply this to my face, on the places that the sun would naturally hit and it just leaves a lovely soft bronzy glow without being over the top.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – I have already raved about this twice in previous posts but I just can’t get enough of it! When it was first released I thought it was a total waste of money but now I only wish I had bought this sooner. It applies my base makeup flawlessly and blends it in beautifully. No harsh lines or streaks and I love how it applies my foundation in a lighter layer than if I were to use a brush or my fingers, it looks a lot more natural on my skin. Will definitely be buying this again when I need to, I haven’t used a base brush since I bought this.
