La Roche-Posay Make-Up Remover Micellar Water Gel

1 La-Roche Posay Micellar Gel

Last year micellar waters hit the beauty world with a bang. What started as Bioderma being the firm favourite, every skincare brand around brought their own micellar water onto the market and I certainly jumped on that bandwagon! Who didn’t right? I was asked if I would like to try the new La Roche-Posay Make-Up Remover Micellar Water Gel* and said yes as I was so intrigued by this new form of micellar product.

Aimed at normal to combination sensitive skin, it gently cleanses the skin whilst removing your make-up. You just apply to wet skin and then rinse well. I have to point out though, the directions on the back say to not rinse off which confused me as I was convinced I was using it wrong and supposed to wipe of with cotton pads of something. Did anyone see this?

I’ve been using it for a long time now and finally feel that I have used it enough to give my opinion and thoughts on it. The formula is soap-free and alcohol-free which is always good as I actually have dry skin but this product doesn’t effect that at all. When I use this on a full face of make-up, I find that I just get into such a mess. Although it removes a fair bit of product, I always have to use other products that I would normally use to remove the rest. I find that my Clinique Cleansing Balm removes make-up a lot better than this. It doesn’t remove waterproof mascara at all for me either, I have to use a separate eye make-up remover for that.

What I do like about this product though is when I use it on clean skin already, so in the morning or once I’ve removed the bulk of my make-up with another product. It’s a great way to freshen the skin, leaves it feeling soft and nourished but not dry. I find that my moisturiser sits really well on my skin once I use this product and my skin just feels great. It really wakes me up in the morning when I use it and one pump washes my whole face really well so it’s going to last a long time too. For £12.00 I think it is a great product for cleansing the skin but not for removing make-up. You also get your money’s worth with 195ml of product. I love the idea of having a micellar gel,it’s fun to try new things. Most gel products are drying on me but this one isn’t and I love that.

Have you tried this product? What were your thoughts on it?

I also tried this product and reviewed it on my blog lately, and I love it! I think it’s such a great high quality product especially when it comes to removing mascara and eye liner!

I found ti wasn’t the best for make-up removing, especially waterproof mascara but it is a lovely refreshing product! X

I really wish I could get on with La Roche Posay products because I’ve heard such good reviews but once I stray from Clarins my skin has a melt down. The only cleanser that keeps my skin calm is the Liz Earle cleanse & polish!

Great review! I thought exactly the same.. it’s a lovely, refreshing and cooling product especially for the summer but it just doesn’t remove makeup amazingly! I use mine now for removing SPF on my makeup free days xx
