Brand Focus | Urban Decay

Urban Decay is one of my most favourite beauty brands ever. Not just because they have a huge variety of products with gorgeous packaging, but also because their quality of products are always top notch. I would say my Urban Decay collection is the biggest in my whole makeup collection. They have such a huge variety of products and most of them are very well known and some even branded as “Holy Grail” products. I just wanted to do a little run through of my favourites out of my collection.

2PIN IT!

Urban Decay are extremely well known for their palettes, especially their Naked ones. The latest addition to my collection is Naked On The Run which features everything you need, eyeshadow, blusher, eyeliner, mascara, lipgloss and a highlighter, the only think missing is a brush!

The Naked palettes have got to be their most well known products and although some find it silly, I just had to own all three, I know, ridiculous really. I bought Naked 2 first, then received Naked 3 for Christmas when it first launched and picked up the original Naked at the beginning of the year with some Christmas money. After using all three, I have to say the Original is definitely my favourite out of the brown/neutral colours but Naked 3 is gorgeous for the colours with a hint of rose gold/pink, but they never look over the top. The pigmentation of these are incredible. Buttery soft texture and so easily blended, none of the shades in any of the three palettes have let me down.

Naked Basics is another well known palette and there is a Naked Basics 2 but I don’t really get enough use of the original to warrant getting the second one. The shades are nice and pigmented and I love that they are all matte, however I just never find myself reaching for it, I use the light brown shade for my eyebrows sometimes and that’s it.

3PIN IT!

Their Revolution Lipsticks have got to me one of my all time favourite lipstick formulas. They are extremely soft to apply, not at all drying and just the perfect amount of pigmentation. They last really well on my lips and they smell great too, randomly. The packaging also, just look! So stunning. I am yet to try one of their 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil’s but I can imagine they too are brilliant. My favourite shades are definitely Naked – a gorgeous nude and Turn On – a soft pretty pink (shade in the pictures.) They have also brought out the lipsticks in a sheer formula, the same shades and names, just a glossier version. I have swatched a few and do like them, the texture feels great and they don’t feel sticky, I just haven’t picked any up yet.

4PIN IT!

I am a huge fan of the 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil’s especially the black shade Perversion. Super black, lasts so well on the water line and doesn’t smudge either. They have an amazing array of shades from wearable browns and blacks to gorgeous vibrant purples and turquoise.

Their new-ish mascara Perversion is a new favourite of mine. When bought full size it comes with a primer which for me is a bit hit and miss because my lashes are super stubborn, but used alone the mascara creates gorgeous fluttery lashes. I will be writing a more in depth review soon for you all.

Finally, a well loved product in the beauty industry, a less-loved product by me that I just can’t get along with, Primer Potion, definitely one of their top products but I just don’t get it. Whenever I have used mine, the product has been a bit gloopy and stubborn to blend. Although it makes my shadows pop a bit more and appear more vibrant, it also makes my eye makeup crease so badly after only a couple of hours, it’s horrendous. I’ve only ever used multiple mini’s that have come with palettes as a freebie but I will sadly never buy it full size.

What are your Urban Decay favourites?

I’m such a huge fan of Urban Decay and I would definitely say that they’re my all time favourite brand; I’m yet to try anything from them that I’m not impressed by! I would definitely recommend checking out their powders if you haven’t already!

Urban Decay is almost definitely my favourite makeup brand – I love their Lipstick in Rapture and I have the original and the sheer formula, and also a few other shades. Their eyeshadows are awesome and their Perversion mascara is my favourite mascara that I’ve tried so far (: also their liquid foundation and concealer are soooo good, I’d really recommend them! I really want to try out their new blushers x

I love my original Naked palette. I have the third one as well, but I don’t gravitate towards it very often.

  • Natalie Brown

My favorites are for sure Naked 3 & their eye liners. I know many people don’t like Naked 3 but I just love it. Although, I’ve always liked “Pinky” eye shadow shades. I’ve never tried the liner in my water line. I have super issues with any liner staying put there. I guess I’ll give it a try! 🙂

I don’t use it often but it is so so pretty, I love the shades, they’re so different from any other palette. Give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised! 🙂 xx

I love Urban Decay and the naked palettes. Have purchased some of their products and was so impressed by the staying power. Didn’t break me out and lasted a long time.

Oh how I love Urban Decay! I have two of their NAKED Palettes and their original Basics Palette and they are all products that I use frequently. I recently purchased one of their lipsticks and I have to say I have been so impressed, they are so easy to wear.

I don’t really own much from Urban Decay — I have the All-Nighter Setting Spray, which I’m still in two minds about, and the Naked 3 palette. I have to admit, it’s not necessarily a palette that I would recommend myself. The colours are nice, but I can live without them, and I feel like they don’t show up as nicely on my skin as they do on others. I’m able to create relatively nice neutral looks with them, but… yeah, I don’t know, I always feels like the colour fades after a bit.

How watery are your waterlines? I’m quite curious about the eyeliner, but mine are quite watery and I have enough black liners that I don’t really want to splurge on another if it’s not going to last, y’know?

My eyes water at the slightest hint of wind and the eyeliner stays pretty well on me, does come off a bit but I can still tell it’s there. Doesn’t budge from my top lash line at all though, even if I’ve been crying. xx
