Last weekend I stayed at my sister’s for a few days whilst Brent was away in India for work and that usually means one thing for us…shopping. I’ve already posted my Lush Haul if you want to check that out, can’t resist Lush! Most of these products I bought at the same time but a couple where from a different day so I just decided to pop it all together and show you all my new beauty bits at once.
I saw the two Rimmel products mentioned on a YouTube video and they sounded great so went straight out to buy them. The Rimmel Lasting Finsh Concealer is a great thick and creamy concealer that blends really well and covers redness and dark circles brilliantly. There are three different shades in the Good to Glow product and I chose 3 Soho Glow as I wanted a more bronzy look. This is a gorgeous product and looks beautiful on bare skin but it didn’t blend too well with the foundation I tried on top of it. I’m going to try using this product over my foundation next time though. Finally, Brent promised to get me a little something from Duty Free and once he was there, he texted me saying “There’s a MAC what do you want?” how cute is he?! I asked for Soft & Gentle as I’ve literally wanted it for about 4/5 years but never actually picked it up. It had a great saving too which makes it even better. This highlighter is just stunning, it’s so beautiful and looks so pretty on the skin.
I haven’t bought a Barry M nail polish in such a long time as I love the Maybelline SuperStay 7 Day Nail Polishes the best but the Speedy Quick Dry line had some gorgeous pastel colours and also on a 3 for 2. Stop the Clock is the pretty milky yellow/cream shade, I’ve used this already and it did look so great on. In a Heartbeat is the gorgeous pastel coral, these are my favourite types of S/S shades and finally Eat My Dust, a pretty milky sky blue shade, I’ve used this already and it bubbled like crazy but I’m hoping that was down to my base coat being shoddy and not the formula itself but we shall see.
Lip products are my ultimate weakness, for someone who doesn’t wear them all the time (I do try to but I tend to forget) I buy an awful lot of them, four in one shopping trip to be exact. I’d heard about the new Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks and when I swatched them I fell in love, they were so pigmented but creamy and non-drying at the same time, they are lovely. I chose 820 Petunia which is a berry/pink shade and will be great for A/W and 830 Rose is the perfect pinky nude shade, it’s so pretty. I also picked up one of the new Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque in the shade 02 Rose on the Rocks which looks like a gorgeous nude shade but once I wore it, I could barely see it as my lips are so pigmented naturally. I will keep testing it though as it did feel great on. Finally, my big splurge of the day was a Laura Mercier Créme Smooth Lipstick in the shade Girly. A gorgeous coral/nude, it’s a great subtle shade that can be worn everyday and the packaging! So pretty! I was also on the fence about buying the new Laura Mercier Face Illuminator, it was so so stunning but it was a bit pricey. When I told Brent about it later on he said “But I’ve just bought you a highlighter?” Oh yeah! Whoops, good job I didn’t buy it. Addict much?
I will be reviewing most of these products separately so keep your eyes peeled!
