Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm | Review

When you have such dry skin like me, it’s hard to not get obsessed with the latest product that promises to help. I’ve heard so many things about oil cleansers and balms and so on but after a bad experience with the MAC Cleanse Off Oil – made me have serious break outs every time I used it, I ditched it and just stuck to the normal products. I then started hearing whispers amongst the beauty bloggers that the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm was supposed to be pretty good in terms of removing makeup but without drying the skin out, so I of course caved and totally followed the hype, as usual.

Aimed at all skin types, it’s said to be a lightweight cleansing balm that melts away makeup, even the stubborn types without causing the skin to dry out. It’s also said to be non-greasy which for a balm must be pretty tough to achieve. I have to say though, this product does all the above and more.

I scoop some onto both of my hands, rub them together and then apply it to my face in circular motions. Although it doesn’t get rid of every trace of makeup or waterproof mascara – black panda eyes always occur afterwards , it gets off the majority which is good enough for me as I always like to do a double cleanse (usually with a micellar water) just to get every last trace. It is indeed non-drying and not greasy feeling in the slightest, there also isn’t any kind of awful residue left on the skin either, just soft smooth skin that for me feels really hydrated. I swear when I use this, it helps my dry patches tonnes. I went through a stage of having really dry skin on my nose, I know so gross but the struggles real, and the only thing I had changed in my routine was this and within a couple of days the dryness had cleared up.

For just £22.00 I think it’s actually a really good deal as I’ve been using this for nearly 6 months and still have about half a tub left. Although I don’t use it everyday, I can see that it would still last well if I did. I will most definitely be repurchasing this when I run out, I love how it makes my skin feel afterwards and taking makeup off is so so easy with this product.
