This has to be said before any type of review happens….how beautiful is this palette?! I mean, just look at it!! I first fell head over heals with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette (powder ones) and am yet to actually own it, I constantly stare at it on Space NK and read countless reviews on it, I know every detail about it now, but am yet to try it, so sad. When I saw that they were releasing their Ambient Lighting Blush palette I knew I would own one, I purchased Diffused Heat and basked in all it’s glory when it arrived, I was in love…I wanted more.
I then saw they were releasing a limited addition palette version with three shades, one of which is exclusive to the palette. I literally had kittens when I saw the first picture emerge on the internet. As soon as it was released, I bought it. No shame, I didn’t even think twice.
Like the single blushers, the palette comes encased in the gold packaging which doesn’t look cheap or tacky and although I expected it to be a bit weighty, it’s not. However this is a good thing since travelling with a brick would be a nightmare. I love the packaging, it just looks beautiful and so luxurious and the big mirror in the lid is always handy! I did mention in my first single blush review that the packaging let me down, this is definitely not the case anymore and I love the look of all their powder products.
When the palette first arrived I will admit I was surprised and slightly disappointed with the size. I expected it to be a bit bigger but now I actually don’t mind at all as the product goes a long long way and although I’ve used it tonnes since I bought it, it barely looks like I’ve touched it.
A champagne rose blush fused with luminous light powder, this shade creates such a pretty soft pink sheen to the cheeks. A “just got in from the cold” flush.
This shade is exclusive to the palette and is a beautiful cool peach blush fused with incandescent light powder to create a lovely glow. This shade is my favourite as I love a pretty coral blush.
A soft plum fused with mood light powder, this shade is meant to brighten the complexion.
All three shades are so soft and blend beautifully. Although I use Incandescent Electra the most, I really do love all the shades. The blushers are so pigmented, you only need a light swipe of your brush to apply and therefore, the palette will last a long time. There isn’t any kick up in the pan which means none of the product gets wasted.
I adore the look these create on the skin as the powders that are combined with the blush colour just give off the most beautiful soft, subtle glow on the skin and really brighten the complexion. They create a soft sheen on my cheekbones which makes my dull dry skin look pretty and perky. They also sit nicely on dry skin and don’t cause any havoc by sitting in the dry patches.
The Ambient Lighting Blush Palette is available from Space NK for £56.00 which does look shocking at first but considering a single blush is £29.00 and you get three in the palette, it’s a good deal. Each blush in this palette is 3.3g whereas a single blush is 4.2g so it’s not a huge loss.
I recommend this palette 100% and only hope they release it into their permanent collection like they did with their powder palette. I will get my paws on that one day…
Have you tried this palette? What are your thoughts on it?
