June Favourites 2014

Another month has passed which means another favourites. June actually whizzed by, I can’t believe how quick it went. I’m looking forward to July as I’m going on a little wild camping holiday with Brent, my cousin Liam and my brother Mark for 4 days in Dartmoor. Wild camping is a lot different to normal camping, you basically just hike/walk wherever you want and then pitch up a tent for the night, yes that means no toilets. I’m super scared but so excited as well as I love camping and going on adventures and it’s also research for Mark and I’s project that we have going on at the moment. I swear, as soon as I can tell you what we are doing I will. But let’s get into my June monthly favourites.

EOS hand creamBerry Blossom – I’ve had this a while but I was trying to use up a couple of other hand creams that I had going on and finally got round to this one. I love EOS lipbalms and always wanted to try a hand cream by them. This one smells absolutely incredible, best smelling hand cream hands down…haha hands down, excuse the pun! Not only is the scent fab, the formula is lovely too, light weight but extremely moisturising, one pump goes a long way and it’s perfect handbag size.

Topshop cream blusherMorning Dew Now I’m not sure if this shade is available any more but I think they have one that’s really similar. However, I have two Topshop cream blushers and I love them both. The formula is perfect, this shade adds just the right amount of dewiness to my cheeks without appearing patchy or wearing off throughout the day. The colour stays nice and visible all day and doesn’t settle into any dry patches. I find that any stippling brush is perfect for precise and well blended application.

Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Twice a Week Brightening Shampoo As you may or may not know, I have ombré hair. Since I have dyed my hair a lot lifting the colour wasn’t going to be easy. I’m not going to lie, it was orange, but since I’ve used this, (4 times now) the colour is getting lighter and lighter every time and in some places, it is bright blonde. This stuff is a life saver!

Sleek Face Contour Kit Light I kept picking this up, putting it back, picking it up, putting it back and so on. I finally caved and bought it about 2 months ago now I think and have thoroughly enjoyed using it. I’m fairly pale skinned and this shade doesn’t appear orange or muddy at all and blends in really nicely. I also love the highlighter shade, it’s perfect for adding a bit of dewiness to the tops of the cheekbones. A full review will be coming in the nearby future.

Maybelline SuperStay 7 Day Gel Nail ColourUptown Bluereview & swatches – If you have looked at the link, you will know why I love this nail polish. The colour is just beautiful, a bright, vibrant sky blue shade, it’s perfect for summertime. The formula is great, one of the best I have tried and wear time is indeed 7 days – tried and tested! I love everything about this polish and recently picked up another shade too which is Orange Punch a bright pumpkin orange shade, excited to give that a spin.

Chill Ed Lush Oil/Serum* – This product was very kindly sent to me to try out and since I knew I would be bleaching my hair soon, I decided to say yes. First things first though, the scent. It smells just like a sweet shop. If you don’t like sweet scents, take note, however I noticed that once in the hair the smell doesn’t really linger. The main attraction of this hair oil is the formula. It’s very running in consistency, as oils are, but once I apply it to my wet hair, it’s instantly smooth and soft. I find that one pump per side of my head is enough and when my hair’s dry, it’s less frizzy, very smooth and also very shiny. I use it every time I wash my hair and my Moroccanoil and Macadamia Oil no longer get a look in!
