Tropical Wings Zoo

Yesterday was such a beautiful day in the south east that it would have been silly to have stayed indoors. I don’t know about you but when the sun shines I don’t want to sit on a beach, I want to go exploring or for long walks. I love hiking and climbing and doing different activities so when Brent suggested going to Tropical Wings Zoo I was all for it.

Tropical Wings is mainly a zoo featuring different of tropical butterflies and birds from all over the world and they now have other animals too such as wallaby’s, goat’s and meerkat’s, my favourite, they are so cute and funny to watch. I took this little outing as a chance to snap some pretty pictures on my camera and also an outfit of the day post.

I love the picture of the meerkat sunbathing, being the weirdo that I am, I decided to name him Terence haha but on a serious note, he actually is sunbathing, they sit like this to warm up their organs in order to be able to hunt for longer, and probably because they know they look cute (haha). I also love the flower picture above, I don’t know what the name of this flower is but it’s so pretty.

The picture of the blue butterfly is probably my favourite, my mum and I spent ages trying to run around chasing them to get a shot but once they settle on a leaf, they generally tend to close their wings but I managed to get this one with the gorgeous blue peeking through. It’s called a Blue Morpho and it’s from South America and it’s such a beautiful bright vibrant blue shade, I wish I had a nail polish like it!

I hope you enjoyed this little post, it’s very different from what I normally write about but I wanted to share with you more lifestyle activities that I get up too. Brent and I are hoping to go to London next month for the day, Tower of London, some museums and London Dungeons if we can so I will write about that as well.

What did you get up to this weekend?
