Born Pretty Store | 10pcs Professional Brush Set

I’m always on the hunt for new make-up brushes, I think that you really can’t have enough and was very happy when I was recently contacted by Born Pretty Store and asked if I would review some bits for them. I chose the 10pcs Professional Make-up Brush Set* in pink and couldn’t wait to try them out.

The brushes come packaged in the cute pink printed brush wallet and inside there’s an individual slot for each brush. Each brush also came with the see-through protective sleeve over the bristles to keep them flat or they were in a plastic casing. Included in the set there’s a powder brush, blusher brush, fan brush, eyelash comb, retractable lip brush, foundation brush, brow brush, sponge applicator smudge brush and two eyeshadow brushes. They all have pink stems with black necks and do feel rather sturdy.

These brushes are a mixture of goat and pony hair and also artificial fibre’s too. The first thing I noticed when I took the brushes out of their little protective slips were the softness of them, I never thought a brush could be as soft as the Real Techniques brushes but these are amazing. I was so impressed as I was a little dubious at first as to whether the quality would be any good.

The powder and blusher brushes apply powder product perfectly and the blusher and eyeshadow brushes blend products in seamlessly. I noticed  hardly any shedding of the bristle at all which I was really impressed with. However after being washed with my usual Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, I noticed that the white part of the bristles has become a little stained by powders, I can only imagine this will get worse over time however as long as they are clean, I’m sure they will be fine.

The lip brush comes as a retractable brush however once you take the lid off to place on the end to use, it doesn’t click it just falls off. It also doesn’t click as a lid either so it just falls off instantly. Not being able to attach the lid makes using this particular brush for lipstick awfully hard as there’s not enough brush to hold on to. As for the rest of the set, I think they are all great.

I think this is a fab little set and coming in at $18.99 that roughly converts to £12.00 you get a great set that would be perfect for anyone starting out in make-up or someone like me that wants to expand their collection for less. They offer free shipping worldwide and delivery for me took about 2 weeks which was in the middle of the Christmas period as well. I’m super impressed with these brushes and highly recommend them to anyone who’s on the market for some more. At the moment, you can get 10% off your order by using the code CSH10 at the checkout!
