NYE 2012, first night Brent & I met | Alex Goot Tour | Sister’s graduation | Friends wedding | Dominican Republic | Race4Life | Rome with Brent | Trevi Fountain Rome | Brent & I Christmas 2013
2013 will finally be over tonight and it’s time to welcome in the New Year! The past year has been rather up and down for me as you well know, both bad and amazing things happened: I met my wonderful boyfriend Brent and have now been together nearly 10 months, my best friend Dani got married and we had a wonderful reception/holiday in Dominican Republic where I was also her bridesmaid along with another friend Clare. It was the most beautiful wedding and bride I have ever seen. Brent and I also had our first holiday together, he took me to Rome and we had the best time. My sister also graduated from University and I’m very proud of her and she’s now finishing off to become a pharmacist.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing though, loosing my job at the start of the year and not being able to find another one since has really taken it’s toll on me and during that stressful time my mum was then diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully she’s on her way to full recovery and has since finished chemo and will start the radiotherapy soon. She’s been a trooper and I’m so glad she’s getting better now.
A lot has happened in this year, as cheesy as it sounds if it wasn’t for Brent and my family and friends, I don’t know what I would’ve done, I would’ve been a little lost soul. I don’t want to dwell on the past or the bad things that have happened, I want to just move on.
Usually I post resolutions that I try to achieve but this year, I want to go with the flow and see where life takes me. I have my goals like anybody, obviously getting a job is at the top, and then when that happens Brent and I want to rent a flat and save for a house. We also want to see lots of different places, New York, Paris, Las Vegas everywhere possible, we want to go. I would love for my blog to grow, I enjoy it so much and to me it’s more than a hobby. I know so many bloggers say they wish it was a full-time job and I’m no different, it would be amazing.
I’m not going to lie, 2013 was probably the hardest year I’ve ever had and I’m so glad it’s over, I want to welcome 2014, and for you, friends, family and myself, I hope 2014 brings you all lots of luck and happiness. Also, a huge thank you to everyone who reads my blog and have stuck by me, it means a lot.
Happy New Year!
