Now I know there’s so many reviews floating around the blogger world about these products but I still wanted to get in there and do my own review. Plus I really enjoyed taking the pictures of them. Is that sad? It’s obvious that I always give in to “hypes” and always “have” to buy new products that are out. I love trying new things and couldn’t wait to get my hands on these. Evening though I’m supposed to be doing a 100 day spending ban, I just couldn’t resist when I heard that these were 3 for 2 in Boots. I picked up these three really pretty colours and I can’t wait to get more.
If for some reason you’re not familiar with these products, it’s between a lipgloss and lipstick. They are similar to YSL’s lip stains and Revlon have ones called liquid lipsticks which are similar but aren’t great at all. I reviewed that product here.
Celestial – This is the lightest shade out of the three. It’s a lovely pinky/nude and it’s perfect for wearing in the day time. I think it would suit most skin tones and wouldn’t wash out someone who’s really pale. I usually can’t pull off a shade like this, but this one suits me. Well I like to think so anyway, haha.
Stellar – This shade is a beautiful bright pink with a hint of coral. The hand swatch doesn’t do the colour justice but the lip swatch is dead on. The picture with me wearing it is what it looks like really. It’s so pretty and definitely an evening colour. There is a brighter pink shade available from this line however I can’t remember the name of it but it’s so pretty too.
Big Bang – The final shade I have is this lovely bright red. I love a bright red lip and applying lipstick and lip liner can just take forever sometimes, but using this one is so easy! It’s so pigmented and it’s the perfect red lip colour for an evening out.
Now onto the actual product and formulation. All the shades are really pigmented and apply beautifully. I only need to apply one layer to get excellent colour pay-off and because of the shape of the brush, it’s really easy to apply perfectly and get a neat line. On first application, they are so creamy and lovely. The only thing with these is that after wearing them for a while, my lips do feel a little dry, however, the colour is still there but not quite as vivid. Although they do feel dry, it’s a minor detail because the overall product is amazing.
You can pick these up from Boots for £5.99 each which is an amazing price for such a great product. I really can’t wait for my spending ban to be over so I can buy some more from this line. I am definitely waiting for the ban to be over first though because I am not doing well.
Have you used the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers? What did you think of them?
